This manual (TM1520, dated 09MAR92) covers three tractors sharing the same 2.9 L, 3-cylinder 3029 engine block in different tunings: the 5200 with a naturally aspirated 3029DLV01 (30 kW/40 hp), the 5300 with a naturally aspirated 3029DLV02 (37 kW/50 hp), and the 5400 with a turbocharged 3029TLV01 (45 kW/60 hp). All three share a 12-volt electrical system and a 700 cold-cranking-amp battery.
This single volume carries both halves of the job: Sections 10 through 90 cover removal, disassembly and rebuild of every system, while Sections 210 through 260 carry the operational checkout procedures, theory of operation, diagnostics, tests and wiring schematics for the same systems. Serial number locations and features/accessories are documented up front so you can confirm exactly what you're working on before starting.
The 5400's turbocharged engine runs an 18° BTDC timing versus 16° BTDC on the naturally aspirated 5200/5300 - a detail easy to miss if you're working from memory rather than the spec table.
