These three share a hydrostatic power train and a similar chassis, but split cleanly by engine - the 425 and 445 run the Kawasaki FD620D, a liquid-cooled gasoline V-twin, while the 455 runs the Yanmar 3TNA72C-UJ3, a liquid-cooled diesel. Both engine families are liquid-cooled rather than air-cooled, which is itself worth knowing since it's a step up in cooling design from many garden tractors of the era, and the manual's coolant specifications section covers both engine types together.
